LOSING A LOVED ONE TO DEMENTIA

Adjusting to the changes dementia brings requires understanding and acceptance for you as well as your loved one. Writing about your experience can be a significant part of that process. Make writing about your memories, daily activities, or thoughts about the transition you’re experiencing a habit. During this session, short readings will prompt self-reflection on what is happening cognitively and emotionally. Your writing with focus on what helps you through the process of acceptance and grief and may give you the motivation to continue journaling. No writing experience necessary, just a willingness to write

LIVING WITH HOSPICE

Time with your loved one is precious and limited. As a caretaker, you focus your attention on your loved one, but it is important for you to have some time to work through what is happening. Writing about your experience can be a significant part of that process. Make writing about your memories, daily activities, or thoughts about the transition you’re experiencing a habit. Writing can alleviate stress and contribute to your well-being. Short readings will prompt self-reflection on death, dying, and the stages of grief. No writing experience necessary, just a willingness to write.

TELLING YOUR STORY

Do you have a story you want to tell?
Are you writing a book?
Do you need some structure? Some feedback? Some practice?
This workshop is a place to focus on what you’ve already begun
or find inspiration with a new approach.

It’s a class, a workshop, a seminar.
You can use writing prompts, class discussion or your journal to inspire your writing.

EVERY PHOTO TELLS A STORY

Whether or not you like to write, this workshop could inspire you to capture the stories – or people portraits – in words. Bring a couple of photographs to see how you can change the Who What Where When Why questions to the story told by the photograph. You’re going to practice with the photos you bring and see just how easy – and fun! – telling the story can be. Capture a tradition or a special moment, or illustrate a day in the life. You’ll write the story told by the photographs.

EVERY PHOTO TELLS A STORY FOR SCRAPBOOKERS

Do you want to add even more value to your personalized, one of a kind keepsake gifts? Include the story behind your photos to your scrapbooks. Bring a project you want to add journaling to or come with ideas for creating holiday gifts. Choose a couple of photos that capture a tradition or a special moment, or illustrate a day in the life. You’ll write the story told by the photographs.
